Who are Adalo?
Adalo is a no-code mobile app development platform, allowing non-technical users to build powerful, native mobile apps for iOS & Android — without learning to write code.
Adalo raised a Series A at $8m led by Tiger Global, before being acquired by a growth-focused SaaS PE firm.
The Problem
In late 2023, Adalo had successfully scaled their business with a combination of paid ads and social in the competitive no-code market. But with CPCs increasing and well-funded market challengers, Adalo needed a new channel deliver signups and revenue without a marginal cost.
In short, Adalo needed SEO - and in such a crowded market with 100s of direct and indirect competitors, they needed a partner who already knew the market, and knew how to scale a channel quickly.
What Adalo didn’t know at the time is that our SEO wouldn’t be the only battleground for organic seach - Soon, Adalo would face stiff competition for LLM search on platforms like ChatGPT and Claude too.
The Approach
- Masse has deep expertise in no-code, and knew that Adalo’s unique positioning would perform well if searchers had awareness. Masse devised a Scorched Earth SEO strategy, writing bottom-of-funnel content to rank on as many competitor brand terms as possible.
- Masse deployed 20 articles per month in a content at scale approach, covering every single “alternatives”, “competitors”, “pricing”, “vs” branded competitor keyword and more. Masse dug deep, writing competitive content for even the most indirect of competitors.
- Alongside competitive content, Masse wrote how-tos, built over 100+ backlinks and delivered technical SEO optimizations across the site, allowing the Adalo team to focus on product & wider marketing efforts
The Result
Adalo’s non-branded traffic increased 3x in under 12 months (with overall traffic increasing 2x) from SEO. More interestingly, Adalo now drives over 20,000 searches per month from LLMs such as ChatGPT, Gemini & Claude.
